Begin your laser hair removal treatment now and be hair-free in time for summer
It’s hard to think about the beach season when the weather is so cold, but we urge you to once again think about what it’s like to have to shave every week (or more) in readiness for shorts, the beach and summer dresses.
Summer means singlets that show off your underarms, bikinis that expose your bikini line and dresses that leave your legs free and viewable by everyone around you, including people at your work, strangers on the street and your friends.
Laser hair removal is more than just a benefit for your appearance
Removing hair in the places you usually shave means that you will no longer have to shave as frequently and your skin will feel smoother as there won’t be thick hairs growing through the skin at the same speed as before.
Even waxes that claim to last for 6-8 weeks barely ever last that long unless your hair grows slowly naturally, and we all know that we have to shave at least once a week. When you think about it if you’re spending 15 minutes a week shaving and grooming areas like your bikini line, under arms and legs then you’ll be spending 13 hours a year at the very least on your hair removal routine. You might also be spending money on shaving creams or special hair removal creams, as well as equipment or services like waxes with your beautician, epilators and more.
Does laser hair removal last?
Laser hair removal aims to minimise the function of the follicle which means that the production of hair is slowed down drastically or stopped altogether. You will be required to have approximately 5-7 treatments depending on the growth and coarseness of your hair before treatment.
The results of laser hair removal cannot be guaranteed although generally, they stop hair growth so much that you may only have to remove your hair by hand once every 5-6 months – a lot less than every week! For this reason the procedure is sometimes called laser hair reduction as the procedure usually reduces the amount of hair and the speed of growth.
Do you use laser or IPL hair removal?
Here at Bramis Facial Rejuvenation Clinic in Subiaco we use laser hair reduction as opposed to IPL which is a different kind of pulsed light. It can be performed on practically any part of the body including the face where you want to remove unwanted hair (like the hair around the mouth). Of course the procedure can also be used on the underarms, arms, legs, back, bikini area and chest as well.
The laser hair reduction process is very comfortable and has excellent long-term results for most patients. For the best results it is recommended that the hair reduction procedure be performed on people with pale and fair skin.
What happens if laser hair reduction is performed on darker skin?
If the procedure is performed on darker skin then you may be at risk of pigmentation (pale spots) surfacing. This is because lasers are also used to alter the pigmentation in your skin.
We offer convenient 10 minute consultations if you simply want to see if this procedure is suitable for you.
